About Me

My name is Alexis Hollingsworth. I am currently studying English- Creative Writing and a Film and Screen Studies at Southern Utah University. I am the activities coordinator for the Honors Program and spend most of my time working, studying, or planning events for the Honors Program. In my free time I read classic novels, brainstorm for my own writing projects, watch movies and television shows, bother my professors, and plan my next adventures.

I'm from Las Vegas, Nevada originally, but Cedar is my home now. The first time I left the country I travelled to England and Scotland on a Study abroad in May 2015, where I studied Sherlock Holmes, Harry Potter, and Dracula. I was also able to visit Paris before going home. In August 2015, I moved to Northern Germany with my cousin, at which time I began the Wanderess blog. We traveled to Italy and Ukraine while we were living in Europe, and I was able to get a lot of inspiration for the series of novels that I am currently writing. In December, I came back to the United States to return to school at SUU, in order to improve my skills as a writer. During the Spring semester, I realized that while I still want to be a author, I also want to help college students achieve their dreams, like my professors have helped me on my path to reaching mine. I aspire to get my PhD and become a University professor. This June (2016), I was able to participate in another Study Abroad program for my EDGE project (http://studyabroadalexis.blogspot.com/). It took place in Germany, Switzerland, and France, in honor of the 200th anniversary of Mary Shelley's Frankenstein. I was able to study the history, art, culture, and science behind this classic gothic novel. I hope to continue wandering the world, and learning everything that I can about it. Keep reading my blogs, or following me on social media for updates on my future adventures and projects.
